Polyurethane Raw Materials for Footwear Industry

Arex has been developing specially designed polyurethane solutions for shoe soles and systems for many years.

Our wide range of products, which we offer under the name Arex Footwear Systems, is divided into various categories according to different areas of use. Each system is optimized for the specific needs of the subgroup and can be applied by injection or casting machines.

Arex offers a wide range of products for the footwear industry by developing systems tailored to the demands of its customers. These systems can be used in the following areas:

Base Systems
Different sole systems have been developed according to the various needs of our customers and the conditions of use of their products. It is of great importance that the sole material is comfortable, lightweight, ergonomic, durable, non-slip and aesthetic, as well as being able to be produced in different colors. All systems in the Arex product family are designed taking into account features such as hardness, abrasion and flexibility. These systems, which can be customized according to the production line, are offered in the following types:

  • Spring-Summer-Winter Floor Systems (usually three components)
  • Compact Base
  • Wood Rhinestone Base
  • Component A containing polyester
  • Component A1 containing catalyst and silicon
  • Component B containing MDI-based prepolymer

Slipper Systems
Arex offers a wide range of products in various hardness and softness levels for slipper manufacturers. With ultra-low density, flexible and rigid alternatives, Arex is constantly developing new solutions through R&D studies. Some of the systems we have developed are as follows:

  • High Flex Slipper and Sandal Systems
  • Arex Slipper Systems (Ultra Low Density)
  • Arex NG New Generation Slipper Systems (Low Density, High Flex Strength)

Safety Shoes
Safety shoes provide protection against damage to the foot in working environments. However, it is also important that these shoes are light, flexible, durable and non-slip. Polyurethane is the main material preferred for safety shoes by offering these features together. Arex’s systems developed for safety shoes are available in single and double density options.

Boot Systems
Arex has developed flexible and comfortable double density polyurethane Arex boot systems in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2012 and EN 61340-5-1 standards.

Insole (Fusbet) Systems
Choosing the right material is critical for the production of a comfortable insole. Polyurethane is a preferred material for both outsole and insole production thanks to its durability, lightness, high slip resistance and antibacterial properties. Thanks to its porous structure, it allows the feet to breathe by providing air circulation inside the shoe. Arex has developed Arex Fusbet Systems based on two-component polyether to increase insole comfort.
